What the human evidence actually is
Small, uncontrolled, foreign-registry or single-group human studies only.
Some, and it is negative where it matters most. Ipamorelin was developed by Novo Nordisk and taken into human trials for post-operative ileus; a phase 2b programme did not deliver and development stopped. It does raise GH in humans without meaningfully raising cortisol or prolactin, which is its real selling point. No trials support the body-composition claims.
How it is supposed to work
Selective agonist at the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) triggering GH release, with less cortisol/prolactin cross-activation than older GHRPs.
Safety
Generally well tolerated in short trials. Long-term GH elevation risks — insulin resistance, joint pain, tissue growth — are not characterised.
Storage and handling
Lyophilised peptide is generally stored at 2–8 °C, or below −20 °C for long-term storage. Reconstituted in bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol) a solution is typically treated as usable for about 28 days refrigerated, versus roughly 24 hours for plain sterile water, which has no preservative. Add the water slowly down the vial wall and swirl — never shake, which shears peptide chains and foams the solution.
Whatever number a protocol or a prescriber gave you, converting it into syringe units is where a misplaced decimal becomes a tenfold error. Our calculators do that conversion and nothing else — they never invent a dose.
